Flooring Projects

1. Site Preparation and Working Conditions
• Clean and Clear Workspace: The customer must ensure that the working area is clean,
clear of any obstructions, and ready for the installation process. This includes providing
sufficient space for the installers to work without hindrance.
• Temperature Requirements: The property must maintain a constant temperature of
approximately 18°C during installation to allow materials to acclimatise properly and to
avoid prolonged drying times.
• Underfloor Heating: If the property is equipped with underfloor heating, it must be
switched off at least 48 hours prior to the installation date. The underfloor heating can
only be turned back on 48 hours after installation is complete to prevent damage to the
new flooring and ensure proper adhesion.
• Failure to Comply: If the workspace is not adequately prepared, or the required
temperature and underfloor heating conditions are not met, this may result in delays.
Flooring Projects Ltd reserves the right to charge for standing time at a rate of £250 per
operative present on site.

2. Uplift and Disposal of Existing Flooring
• Quotation Basis: If requested, Flooring Projects Ltd will include the uplift and disposal of
your existing floor coverings in your quotation. However, if this has not been explicitly
agreed before placing your order, it remains the customer's responsibility to ensure that
all existing floor coverings are removed prior to our arrival on site.
• Additional Charges: Should an uplift be required upon our arrival, additional charges
will apply. The minimum charge is £250.00, and the total cost will be based on labor,
machinery hire, and the type of flooring to be removed.

3. Subfloor Preparation
• Survey Limitations: Any free subfloor survey provided by Flooring Projects Ltd is
contingent upon purchasing the flooring product from us. Our survey will only assess
what is visible without removing existing floor coverings.
• Unexpected Subfloor Issues: The quotation includes agreed subfloor preparation.
Should additional subfloor work be required once existing floor coverings are removed,
this will incur extra charges. These will be added to your final balance.

4. Furniture Removal
• Customer Responsibility: The customer is responsible for ensuring
the room is clear of furniture before installation begins. If this is not
possible, Flooring Projects Ltd can provide a furniture removal service
at an additional charge of £75.00 per item.
• Liability Disclaimer: While our installers will take great care when moving furniture,
Flooring Projects Ltd cannot be held responsible for any damage to the furniture or
marked walls. Any valuable or electrical items should be removed by the customer prior
to our arrival. If the customer requires assistance with these, a removal service is
available for an additional charge of £100.00, subject to written permission from the
customer.

5. Appliance Disconnection
• Customer Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all
appliances, including washing machines, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, and similar items,
are disconnected prior to the installation date. Flooring Projects Ltd will not disconnect or
reconnect any appliances. Failure to have appliances disconnected before our arrival
may result in delays or additional charges.

6. Doors, Skirting Boards, and Kickboards
• Height Adjustments: Installation of Luxury Vinyl Flooring may alter the height of your
floor, potentially requiring adjustments to doors, kickboards, and similar fixtures. Flooring
Projects Ltd does not offer trimming services and will not be responsible for any
associated costs.
• Door Removal: Our fitters may remove doors to facilitate installation, but the trimming
and rehanging of doors must be carried out by the customer or their appointed carpenter.
• Gaps: If skirting boards or architraves etc were installed over your previous flooring,
gaps may be apparent after installation. Flooring Projects Ltd is not responsible for filling
these gaps. Alternatively, we can offer subfloor buildup for an additional charge to
mitigate gaps.

7. Payments
• Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure your installation date. The remaining 50%
is due on the day of installation completion.
• Late Payment: Failure to pay the balance within 14 days of completion will result in legal
proceedings to recover the debt.
• Order Cancellations: If the customer cancels after placing a deposit, Flooring Projects
Ltd reserves the right to retain up to 100% of the deposit, depending on costs incurred.

8. Additional Work and Extras
• Unforeseen Extras: Any additional work necessary to complete the
installation that was not visible or discussed at the time of the quotation will be
communicated to you. Such extras will be chargeable.
• Refusal of Extras: If the customer refuses the recommended extra work, you may be
required to sign a waiver acknowledging that proceeding without the work may
compromise the integrity of your new flooring, which will void Flooring Projects Ltd's 1-
year installation warranty.
• Work Suspension: If the customer chooses to complete the remedial work themselves,
the installation may be paused for a fee of £250.00 per installer. Alternatively, the
customer may choose to cancel the installation entirely, in which case Flooring Projects
Ltd will retain all provided materials and any deposit paid. If costs exceed the deposit, the customer may be required to pay the difference.
